California Healing Day 3
/It’s true what they say. Sunshine, sound of birds, smell of fresh grass.. these are things we take for granted. They really do help your mindset and mental health. And I’m not saying suddenly my anxiety is cured (now wouldn’t that be nice if it were that simple!!) but it has definitely lifted my mood. I found myself smiling like a weirdo and singing to myself as I walked down the street, taking in the sights of the palm trees, and the mountains in the background. Ugh. Why does Canada have to get so damn cold?!!!!
So today I got to go to the google building!! My cousin showed me around the campus, and DAMN. I wish I was a genius so I could work there. It’s just INCREDIBLE how everything is set up there. I found myself just in awe looking around, like a kid in a candy store. Each building had a different vibe to it, and each floor had a different theme. Everything was so casual and happy. There were cafeterias that serves different FREE food every day (and it’s DELICIOUS). We grabbed what I thought was plastic cups and cutlery and I thought to myself wtf that’s weird Google would have plastic... until I read that it was made out of corn and was compostable. Of course it is, God, Google is just the best. You can tell they really promote trust and employee satisfaction and wellbeing too. There was a gym, pool, game rooms, sports courts, garden with hammocks, specific rooms to nap in, cafes everywhere .. I wanted to stay there all day!!! I had the BEST berry iced tea ever, and I drank “mint infused spa water” and it was the best damn water I’ve ever had. I can’t even begin to list or describe everything I saw. But basically I decided Google has to be the best place ever to work.
After spending hours walking around Google, I decided to just go and read my book at the park! It was the perfect way to end the sunny day.
Then I went to go see Escape Room with my cousin and I actually thought it was so good!!! (Despite the mixed reviews). My recommendation is to go see it!!
I’d say my first full day in Cali was a success!
